If you're a gamer, certainly you've heard of Jack Thompson. If you haven't, you have your head up your ass.
Anyway, this jackass thinks all the things wrong with society is to blame on video games. I'm suprised he's not claiming to be Jesus and trying to classify video games as the creation of Satan meant to destroy the world, but I don't think he wants people to think he's more of an idiot than he already is.
The man types e-mails like a 7-year-old AOL user. If you read VG Cats then you've seen his fantastic typing skills. Or at least you should have. Read the news updates, people.
The worst part is, you can't talk to this man. Try and be civilized or sarcastic, hell, you can even agree with him and he won't listen to you! Try to counter his piss-poor arguments and he'll respond with:

Those are the e-mails Scott (VG Cats creator) got in return from Jack, and Scott clearly demonstrates that the first e-mail came from Jack. Jack Thompson is a dumbass who can't keep track of his own e-mails, apparently.
There was an article a while back on CBS that interviewed Jackass Thompson. Let's pick out some of the key points and show what a dumbass he is.
Any M-rated game has violence levels unacceptable and definitionally harmful to anyone under 17. The industry will rue the day it accepted this labeled scheme.
Why's that, Jack? People under 17 get to see violent, R-Rated movies every day, but no one's out to change the movie ratings system, now are they?
I can tell you that some crimes would not occur but for the violent entertainment. For the families of the deceased, that is the only statistic that matters.
Oh, really? Murders have been around for centuries without any form of entertainment. Hell, most violent games don't invent the ways to kill people. There are stories in newspapers all the time about how people are killed. Why not blame newspapers for telling people how to kill others as brutally or as quickly as possible? Oops. That's right. Newspapers aren't "entertainment," they're just information. Either way, TV shows, movies, and books can demonstrate how to kill people, too. Video games alone are not to blame. If you let some form of entertainment influence you to kill someone, you're a goddamned idiot to begin with.

Holy shit what is wrong with you? GTA is one game series. One game series that only has two games with the content you speak of, which is no worse than an R-Rated movie, or hell, even PG-13 movies have sex scenes. Rockstar locked the content for hot coffee away, thinking no one would find a way to get at it. They have a game to release and money to make. It's like cutting scenes from movies. They cut scenes because they're useless in theaters, but the keep the footage to use later with a directors cut.

So the Comics Code Authority was created. The ESRB is like the Comics Code Authority, only the ESRB is more efficient at spelling out what they mean with everything.

Bullshit. Damn near everything video game characters do defy the laws of physics. You can't be trained to break the laws of physics by running up walls or making weapons appear out of thin air, or carrying tons of ammunition with no real way of storing it. You fail in that argument.
